(Mental Health & Education Program for High Schools)
What is Pasifika Point?
Pasifika Point is a Mental Health and Education programs for year 11 and 12 High School students.
We believe in providing learning that brings together visual, practical and out of the box thinking using a diverse cultural lens.
The Program
​
The program consists of 8 weeks meeting with identified 11 and 12 year students to support them create their own Education/Work strategic pathway post High School.
​
During these sessions, discussions will include topics around Mental Wellbeing and students can access free Counselling (Debriefing Sessions) with our accredited Mental Health Practitioners.
Guest speakers (via Zoom) present during our sessions and give students advice and direction about different pathways they can follow moving forward.
Meet The Team
Suzanne (MSW)
CEO | Psychotherapist
Suzanne, also known as
Tupua, (her Matai title) is a Psychotherapist working with individuals experiencing Mental Health issues.
She works part-time in the Emergency department in Mental Health.
Suzanne completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Brigham Young University Hawaii and her Master of Social Work degree at Flinders University in Adelaide
Sylvia (MEd.SocEcol)
Education & Learning Consultant
Sylvia is our curly haired, colourful, Maori Educational & Learning Consultant ( with a splash of IT support). Her passion is to empower learning in young minds. She primarily works with Teachers, academics and students using visual and thematic learning. She started her career after attending Brigham Young University, Hawaii and has also completed a Master of Education (Social Ecology) at Western Sydney University (previously UWS). Sylvia also started her PhD and would like to return to finish this in the near future.

who brings to the team a

matter what barriers are put

Leata
Project Coordinator
Leata is our young Samoan Youth advocate. He is proud of his culture and what it stands for.
Over the last couple of years, Leata has had to overcome many physical barriers, but is determined to support Pasifika youth to succeed in their own journey.
Leata heads up our after school program for local High School Students in the Logan Community.
